High Achievers Scholarship students will now receive an additional USD 390 allowance on top of their stipend if they choose to remain in Maldives.
The Ministry of Higher Education has introduced changes to the High Achievers Scholarship policies.
Speaking to PSM News, State Minister at the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, Abdulraheem stated that the the decision to provide additional allowance for high achievers is a step taken to encourage top-performing students to remain in the country while studying.
The eligibility criteria for the High Achievers Scholarship now requires high grades (at least four As and one A*) across five subjects including SSC Dhivehi or Islam, and a minimum C pass in English. Previously, the requirement was an A grade in all five subjects.
