VIA traffic flow revised, taxis accessible at domestic terminal

Traffic flow arrangements at Velana International Airport have been revised to improve convenience for passengers using Terminal 2, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced.

MACL said the changes came into effect at 10:00 a.m, March 25.

Under the new arrangement, passengers will be able to board and disembark taxis in designated areas in front of Terminal 2. The area between the arrivals frontage of Terminal 2 and the roundabout has been allocated for passenger drop-offs.

Four taxi slots have been marked in this area at any given time.

Meanwhile, the area between the departures frontage of Terminal 2 and the roundabout has been designated for passenger pick-ups. This section can accommodate up to five taxis at a time.

MACL said its staff will be deployed on-site to guide passengers and drivers, and to ensure the smooth management of traffic flow during the transition.
