The Centre for Maritime Studies on Sunday said it was currently conducting 23 different programmes across four regions of the country.
The centre said “it offers training programmes of all levels with the exception of Captain and First Officer training courses.”
The programmes are also conducted in Ungoofaaru Island of Raa Atoll, Maalhos Island of Alifu Alifu Atoll, Dhangethi of Alifu Dhaalu Atoll and Keyodhoo Island of Vaavu Atoll.
The programmes are conducted in the atolls with assistance from local councils and private parties, according to the institution.
Head of Centre at the institution Captain Ahmed Zubair said over 2,200 students had completed trainings conducted by the institution since 2000.
Practical sessions of the programmes are conducted at the Survival Centre in Villimalé.
