Maldives National University - MNU Faculty of Sharia and Law on Saturday held a seminar on cyber security and cyber law.
The seminar was conducted to create awareness among the students of the faculty on cyber security and cyber law.
At the seminar, students were provided information on the types of cyber crimes committed, challenges in combating cyber crime and guidelines for transferring personal information via the internet.
Speaking at the Seminar, Vice Chancellor at the MNU, Dr. Ali Fawaz Shareef said more measures need to be taken to prevent identify theft and credit card fraud in this era of electronic technology. He advised all to safeguard personal information, emails, computers and passwords.
Lectures at the seminar were given by cyber security experts from Maldives Police Service, top executives from some local technology companies and Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Sayyid Imran.
The seminar on cyber security and cyber law was attended by students of the Faculty of Sharia and Law of the Maldives National University.
