Chinese Foreign Ministry on Saturday held discussions with a visiting delegation of journalists from the Maldives regarding the role of media in further enhancing people to people relations between the Maldives and China.
Ten journalists from the Maldives, including 2 from Public Service Media - PSM attended the meeting held at the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Beijing.
At the meeting, discussions were focused on ways in which media can assist in promoting people to people relations by creating public awareness in both countries. The journalist delegation and Chinese Foreign Ministry officials also discussed ways to promote trade relations, and culture and tradition of both countries through special programmes.
The Maldivian journalist delegation has also visited numerous cultural and historic sites in Beijing during its ongoing visit to China which began on the 21st of this month.
