Ambassador of Denmark presents credentials to President

At the ceremony held Monday morning at the President’s Office, the President welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives, and congratulated on the appointment as the Non-Resident Ambassador of Denmark to the Maldives.

During the call, the President noted the high importance given to its’ relations with Denmark and expressed his sincere gratitude for the continued assistance from the Government of Denmark to the Small Island Developing States and in particular, to the Maldives.

Recalling the initiatives taken by the Government of Denmark on environment protection and climate change, the President expressed interest in seeking carbon free energy solutions from Denmark for climate change adaptation of the Maldives. The President also briefed the Ambassador on the development efforts of Maldives and discussed areas of further cooperation between Denmark and Maldives.

The Ambassador conveyed appreciation for the warm welcome in the Maldives and expressed his confidence that the relations between the Maldives and Denmark would grow from strength to strength in the future.
