Civil Court division in Hulhumale' begins hearing cases

The newly established Civil Court division in Hulhumale' has begun hearing cases.

The Supreme Court decided to establish a civil court division in Hulhumale on April 13, 2016, under efforts by the judiciary to ease access to justice.

The civil court division in Hulhumale is the first superior court division to be established in the country.

Speaking to Public Service Media, Civil Court Judge Abdulla Ali said they have begun hearing cases at the court division which was completed in August.

He added that due to administrative constraints, cases filed at the court will be accepted by the Civil Court in Male’ until the administrative arrangements are made.
