President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the government has provided job opportunities to individuals who graduated from the first batch of the National Service Program but who have not been selected for vocational training.

The President revealed this while delivering his third Presidential Address at the first parliamentary session of the year.

Graduates who have not been selected for training have been given employment according to their interests by the government.” The President has stated.

Out of the 344 graduates from the National Service Program, 65 students are undergoing vocational training at present. President Muizzu has detailed that 241 students not selected for training have been given government jobs, and the remaining 38 were allowed to work in the private sector.

The second batch of this program consists of 350 youth, who are currently training at Maafilaafushi from January 24th. The President has stated that the government aims to provide opportunities to 1,000 individuals to participate in the National Service Program within 2026.

Launched by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, this program aims to develop a patriotic, responsible, healthy and disciplined generation of youth. Furthermore, recruitment to the military and defence forces can be increased, strengthening the public service and security sector. Participants benefit by developing their character, and gaining teamwork and essential life skills, creating an overall well-rounded generation.
