PSM rolls out a grand welcome for the National Futsal Team

Public Service Media (PSM) has rolled out a red-carpet celebratory welcome for the Maldives’ National Futsal Team, after its recent triumph in the inaugural SAFF Futsal Championship organized by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF).

A special event was held at PSM Studio for the home coming champions. During the event, PSM’s management met with the team and congratulated them on the historic achievement.

Speaking during the ceremony, PSM’s Managing Director Ahmed Shakeeb said that Maldives is quite renowned internationally for its sporting exploits. The Managing Director revealed to the team that PSM has contributed in its capacity during the tournament and broadcasted the team’s flawless run to the entire nation. He also thanked the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) for providing support in this endeavor.

Highlighting the work done by PSM in the last two years field of sports, Shakeeb said that 80 percent of the work has been invested to showcase Maldives’ Futsal landscape and that Futsal continues to bring accolades to the nation. The Managing Director assured that going forward, PSM will continue to consistently support futsal.

Captain of the Futsal Team, Mohamed Imran revealed that from the initial preparation for the tournament at local futsal grounds all the way to the end of the tournament, the team had faith that they would succeed.

He reiterated that success came from the hard work of the entire national team. He also thanks all the supporters for their consistent support, revealing that it was a deciding factor in the team’s success.

“The Supporters were such a big encouragement in bringing this success. I want to express my profound gratitude to all supporters” Mohamed Imran said.

The team’s manager Mohamed Umair said the mentality is always to win. And this mentality was ingrained into each player. He also thanked PSM for its support to he team. He particularly noted the real time coverage and interviews taken by PSM, and said he provided his full support to the PSM team in ensuring the team’s hard work was broadcasted to the public.
