Funeral prayer for Maldivian pilgrim held in Makkah

Funeral prayer for a Maldivian pilgrim was held on Tuesday at Makkah’s Grand Mosque, Ministry of Islamic Affairs said. 

The Ministry identified the deceased as 70-year old Abdullah Nasir from Fuvahmulah Island.

Speaking to PSM, Coordinator at the Islamic Ministry, Mohamed Ahsan said Nasir passed away due to a heart attack while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit at King Faisal Hospital in Makkah on Monday night.

The Ministry also said a female pilgrim from the Maldives is also being treated in the ICU of the same hospital due to poor health, but did not give any further details.
