Gulhifalhu Investment Limited (GIL) on Tuesday said preparations are underway to commence the second phase of Gulhifalhu land reclamation project.
The second phase of the project would see the reclamation of an additional 115 hectares of land in Gulhifalhu, which is the second industrial zone in the Greater Malé region.
Abdulla Fazeel, Managing Director of GIL, said that “all land plots designated for leasing and long-term sale have been sold out”.
“The second phase land reclamation project was initiated following recommendation from the President, which will utilised for warehousing and industrial works, as per the Gulhifalhu development master plan,” he said.
The Government sacked the initial plan to provide housing in Gulhifalhu, and later decided to develop a labour park, and is currently seeking a developer.
