MBC & PSM to conduct training programme for journalists

Maldives Broadcasting Commission President Mohamed Shaheeb on Thursday announced a new programme to train journalists in collaboration with Public Service Media – PSM.

The announcement was made at the award ceremony of the 29th National Story Writing Competition.

Speaking at the ceremony, Shaheeb said "the quality of Dhivehi writing has diminished and the proper use of the language is rare in the media."

Noting that teachers and schools can play the most important role in solving the problem, Shaheeb said the proper use of the language should be instilled in children from a young age.

Shaheeb said "MBC will partner with Maldives Media Institute of PSM to hold special workshops on writing and reporting in the near future."
