HDC calls for proposals for private property development

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) on Sunday called for proposals to develop private properties in Hulhumalé Phase II, for housing and commercial purposes.

HDC said private property development is open to build row houses and flats, in addition to commercial uses including business development.

Ali Shareef, Finance Director at HDC, told PSM News that the sale of land for private property development is under a bid to provide additional housing options and encourage development of the business sector.

Some parties have already expressed interest in private property development projects, he added. He further said land in neighbourhood I has already been allocated under the project.

HDC earlier announced the sale of land plots in Hulhumalé Phase II.

According to HDC, a total of 76 plots ranging from 1000-1800 square feet are up for sale from Neighbourhood I of Phase II, with bids set to start at MVR 3,000 per square feet. These plots are divided into two categories which include 38 beach front plots and 38 beach side plots, it said. Deadline to submit proposals for the land plots expire on September 18.
