Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) Sunday revealed plans to participate in additional travel fairs next year, under its efforts to promote Maldives as a travel destination.
The association decided to participate in 10 international travel exhibitions in 2017, while it is expected to attend 7 international travel exhibitions this year.
MATATO has already participated in 4 international travel exhibitions in 2016 while it has plans to participate in 3 more exhibitions later this year, including the MATTA Fair in Malaysia, PATA Travel Mart in Indonesia and another exhibition in India.
Abdulla Giyas, President of MATATO, told PSM News that the aim was to participate in more than 10 international travel exhibitions in 2017. MATATO will publish the names of the exhibitions it will attend in 2017, before the end of this year, he added.
