Maldives Pledges Full Cooperation with Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference Outcomes

Speaker of Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla has affirmed that the Maldives will extend its full cooperation to the outcomes of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC).

He made the statement during a courtesy call with Yusuf Raza Gilani, the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan.

During the meeting, the two discussed Maldives-Pakistan relations and key ISC issues, as well as the importance of further strengthening the long-standing friendly relations between the Maldives and Pakistan.

Speaker Abdul Raheem commended ISC’s success and stressed the importance of the conference in promoting legislative cooperation on matters of peace, security and development. He reiterated the Maldives Parliament’s commitment to supporting cooperation in addressing shared challenges.

Speaker Abdul Raheem also expressed gratitude to the Parliament of Pakistan for the warm hospitality extended to the Maldivian delegation. He also offered condolences to the families of those affected by the recent tragic attack in Islamabad, strongly condemning the incident.
