Eydhafushi road project to commence in September

Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) on Thursday said work on the road project in Eydhafushi Island, Baa Atoll, will commence next month.

The project would see the development and asphalt-layering of 14 roads in the island.

MRDC Site Manager in Eydhafushi Ahmed Basheer told PSM News that final preparations were underway to commence work on the project, including procurement of all materials and equipment required for the work.

As Eydhafushi is one of the most populous in the region, it attracts a larger number of visitors from nearby islands.

The MVR33 million project is expected to be completed before September 2017.
