President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Wednesday ratified the second amendment to the Local Council Elections.
The amendment bill was passed by the parliament at the 17th sitting of the 2nd session.
On ratification, the Act has now been published on the Government Gazette.
The amendment to the Local Council Elections Act is made pursuant to an amendment to the Decentralisation Act.
