The Government on Wednesday made arrangements for eight doctors to pursue specialty training in Nepal.
In a special function held Wednesday at the Ministry of Health, Health Minister Abdulla Nazim handed over the scholarships to the eight doctors.
This opportunity was made available through an agreement signed with the National Academy of Medical Science of Nepal.
According to Health Ministry, the government will spend over MVR850,000 for each of the eight doctors.
Currently, there are 13 doctors doing medical specialisation at the Nepal’s National Academy of Medical Science under government scholarships.
Addressing the doctors who received the scholarships, Abdulla Nazim said the government’s aim is to reduce the number of foreign specialists working in the country.
