Ministry of Environment and Energy on Tuesday held a stakeholder meeting on Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) Alternative Survey and HFC Inventory in Maldives.
The workshop, held at the Environment Ministry, was inaugurated by Abdullah Majeed, Minister of State for Environment and Energy.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the State Minister highlighted the importance of reducing ozone depleting substances in the Maldives.
According to the Ministry, the main objective of the workshop is to discuss about the ozone depleting substances imported into the country and ways to control and manage such substances by the year 2030.
A total of 20 stakeholders from relevant institutions attended the workshop, which was the first of its kind relating to HFC Inventory.
The Ministry said a second workshop is scheduled to be held soon, and the inventory is expected to be completed by the end of September.
