Health Protection Authority (HPA), in collaboration with UNICEF, on Monday kicked off a training programme on effective vaccine management.
The programme, titled “Mid-level Managers Training on Vaccine Management”, targets medical staff involved in administering vaccines.
According to HPA, the programme is focused on vaccine management, including proper storage, shipment and transportation, distribution and immunisation.
HPA also said the training includes stock-keeping, and ways to increase awareness on the importance of vaccination and immunisation.
It said discussions at the training would also focus on identifying challenges faced in the atolls, related to vaccine management and proper storage.
The training, facilitated by experts from HPA, World Health Organisation (WHO) and UNICEF, will close on August 25.
The training and information session is attended by a total of 40 healthcare professionals from across the country.
