Across Shaviyani Atoll, President Muizzu Seeks Grassroots Insight on Development Priorities

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Monday commenced a four-day official tour of Shaviyani Atoll, visiting fourteen inhabited islands as part of his administration’s nationwide initiative to strengthen direct engagement with local communities.

The visit is designed to facilitate dialogue between the central government and island constituencies. Over the course of the tour, the president is scheduled to meet with island councils and women’s development committees (WDCs) to discuss development priorities and assess community needs.

He is also expected to engage with residents to hear their concerns and gain insight into local welfare conditions. These interactions form a core component of President Muizzu’s government’s commitment to participatory governance.

The itinerary includes Kan’ditheemu, Noomaraa, Goidhoo, Feevah, Bileiyfahi, Foakaidhoo, Milandhoo, Narudhoo, Maroshi, Lhaimagu, Funadhoo, Komandoo and Maalhendhoo. This tour marks a continuation of the president’s pledge to visit every atoll in the country, enabling direct consultations with atoll, island and city councils.

He is accompanied by cabinet ministers and senior officials from key government institutions.
