Foundation Stone Laid for New Skate Arena at Male’ Usfasgandu

The foundation stone has been laid for a new skate arena to be developed at Male’ Usfasgandu.

At a ceremony attended by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, the foundation stone was laid by Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu, together with the Deputy Managing Director of Rasheed Carpentry and Construction Pvt Ltd (RCC), Adam Raheem.

Also present were Sports Commissioner Mohamed Tholal, senior officials from the Sports Ministry, as well as a large number of skate clubs, skaters, and parents.

The skate arena is being developed under RCC's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. Once completed, the facility will feature both a speed skating track and a skateboard park.

Skating is rapidly growing in popularity in the Maldives, with local skaters competing in international competitions and winning medals. The arena, long awaited by the skating community, will be an important milestone in the development of sports and will nurture future generations of talented athletes.
