Housing Ministry on Wednesday said it would soon begin using machines to draw road markings in Male’ City.
Yellow colour paint was previously used for road markings in Male’ City but the Housing Ministry recently switched to white paint to adhere to internationally accepted standards.
Responding to criticism regarding the change, Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said "white is an internationally accepted colour for road markings, and that most developed countries use white paint for road markings."
He said "the Ministry is now working to acquire a road machine," adding that "the use of such equipment will save manpower, reduce cost, and improve working efficiency."
Dr. Muizzu also said "the road marking machine and other equipment used in Laamu Atoll Link Road project will be brought to Male’ once the project is complete."
