Defence Minister Adam Shareef Umar on Friday evening urged all to support efforts to tackle social issues.
He made the statement at the award ceremony of the inter-office teledrama competition organised by the National Centre for the Arts (NCA).
Citing the depth and magnitude of social issues facing the society, the Defence Minister called on all to seek ways to tackle and resolve such issues, and take it on at an individual and national level.
He also urged civil servants and employees of other government offices and institutions to lead such efforts.
Speaking at the function the Coordinator of NCA Ahmed Ali, announced plans to make the inter-office Teledrama competition nationwide.

Six teledramas were featured in the competition, from government offices and institutions, which was conducted in partnership with Public Service Media (PSM).
The drama submitted by Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) picked up the first place trophy, while the one by FENAKA Corporation Ltd. was voted first by viewers.
The title of Best Actress went to Aishath Yashfa from Maldives Customs Services, while the Best Actor trophy was lifted by Abdulla Khaleel from the Housing Ministry.
Yashfa was also voted as the Best Actress by viewers, while Ahmed Ismail from FENAKA Corporation Ltd. was voted as the Best Actor.
