Kaashidhoo to have tourist hotel soon

Kaashidhoo Island Council on Saturday said final preparations are underway to commence a project to develop a 50-bed hotel in the island.

Kaashidhoo, which generally is a farming island, is now gearing up to introduce local tourism, following approval by the government to develop a tourist hotel in the island.

Kaashidhoo Council President Esa Khaleel said the hotel will pave the way to create new jobs in the island, and sees this as very beneficial for the community.

According to the council, the hotel development project is now the highest priority project currently underway in the island.

A 200,000 squarefoot land plot has been allocated on the southwestern side of the island for the project.
