President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said every child has a role in community development.
Speaking at the O’ Level Top Achievers’ Awards 2015, held Wednesday evening, President Yameen reminded all school children to keep in mind that each of them played an important role in community development.
In his speech, the President appealed to all school leavers to be positive role models to society. He also said the nation expected students to always carry the torch of aspiration and education, forward through future generations.

Speaking at the function, the President underscored three important lessons for all students - to determine one’s best skills; to always aim for success; and to adapt their knowledge to the real world in a manner beneficial to society.
President Yameen further called on everyone to always show respect towards each other, reminding those present that respect was a two-way street.
At the function, President Yameen awarded the President’s Prize, Ministry of Education’s Trophy and certificate to 74 students who attained the “A” grade in all 8 subjects in the O’ Level Exams.
A total of 500 students were awarded for various top achievements at the function.
