The Maldives remains fully committed to the fight against the global menace of terrorism, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom said on Wednesday.

He made the statement in a message of sympathy to the Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, following the bombing in Quetta Civil Hospital.

In his message, President Yameen said that “the Maldives stands in firm solidarity with Pakistan, and condemns the cowardly act of terror in strongest terms.”

He assured that “the Maldives will continue to work closely with the Government of Pakistan and the international community as a whole in eliminating the scourge of terrorism.”
