The ongoing project to develop an artificial beach in Kulhudhuffushi Island, Haa Dhaal Atoll, will be completed soon, the Island Council said Wednesday.
The 800-metre artificial beach, which is the first to be developed in the atolls, is being developed on the southern side of the island.
Ibrahim Rasheed, a council member said revetment work on 100-meters of the beach area and developing the breakwater have now been completed.
The MVR30 million project is contracted to Capital Investment and Finance Pvt. Ltd. and scheduled to be completed within 12 months.
The project would see the development of a 60x100 foot beach area and a 710-metre revetment wall.
