Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) on Wednesday announced plans to run a hotel in Addu City in conjunction with its public transport service.
Mohamed Junaid, Chief Executive Officer of MPL, told PSM News that the company is currently in talks with the Government on redeveloping Dhoogas in Gan Island as a city hotel.
Since Dhoogas is already developed, it can be easily transformed into a hotel, he said.
He added that renovations can be completed and the hotel can be made operational in just 2 months.
Noting that Dhoogas is currently closed, Junaid said developing Dhoogas as a city hotel will create job opportunities and benefit the city.
