President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed warm felicitations to President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Prime Minister Luís Montenegro of Portugal on the occasion of Portugal Day, expressing hopes for Portugal’s continued progress and prosperity.
In his message to President de Sousa, President Dr Muizzu conveyed heartfelt congratulations on this momentous occasion. He extended warm greetings from the people of the Maldives to the people of Portugal, acknowledging the significance of Portugal Day. The message also included his personal wishes for President de Sousa’s continued good health and happiness, along with hopes for the sustained progress and prosperity of the Portuguese people.
In a separate message to Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, the President conveyed his best wishes to the Prime Minister, the government, and the people of Portugal as they mark their National Day. He also extended personal wishes for Prime Minister Montenegro’s good health and well-being, and expressed hope for the continued advancement and success of the Portuguese nation.
The President also shared a message on his official X account to commemorate the occasion. Highlighting that this year marks three decades since the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Portugal, President Dr Muizzu reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two nations.
Portugal Day is celebrated annually on 10 June.
