Maldives Media Institute (MMI) on Wednesday held a workshop on understanding and interpreting financial statements.
The workshop was organised by MMI, in collaboration with Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA) and Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC).
Speaking at the inauguration of the workshop, Managing Director of PSM Ibrahim Khaleel highlighted the importance of human resource development in the media field, citing that it is the responsibility of media outlets to provide accurate and factual information to the public.
President of MBC Mohamed Shaheeb also reiterated Khaleel’s comments on providing adequate training opportunities for journalists and other media personnel.
Speaking at the function, CEO of CMDA Ahmed Naseer spoke on the importance of increasing public awareness on economics and finance.
MMI conducts monthly workshop targeting the media.
