Council of Fonadhoo Island, Laamu Atoll, have begun preparations to host Public Service Media PSM’s Eid al-Adha festival.
Fonadhoo was awarded as the host island of PSM’s Eid Festival, after PSM publicly opened for proposals to hold the festivities. Fonadhoo Council said they plan to include participation of all islands in Laamu Atoll in the festivities.
Fonadhoo Council President Ahmed Riyaz told PSM News that the main activities will be held at the vacant land plot adjacent to the islands harbour, and that work is currently underway to set up the a stage in the area.
Special arrangements have been made to ensure participation of as many residents in the activities, the council said, and added that they have opened opportunity for those interested to participate in the events.
