The Maldives National Skills Development Authority (MNSDA) has opened registration for individuals interested in becoming National Assessors to evaluate those completing its vocational training programmes.
Assessors will be responsible for conducting Competency-Based Assessments to examine those completing institute-based training in the National Competency Standards, National Apprenticeship Programme and National Trade Testing and Certification Programme. The opportunity for registration is open until the 18 May.
According to MNSDA, only those meeting the requirements for registration as a national assessor will be registered. The requirements for registration as a National Assessor include:
- Holding a higher-level of qualification in the field of the proposed programme and one year of practical experience
- Holding an equivalent-level of qualification in the field of the proposed programme with 2 years of practical experience
- Having 5 years of continuous practical experience in the field of the proposed programme
Competency Based Assessments are assessments conducted by MNSDA which is compared against the National Competency Standard to formally determine whether a candidate possesses the skills for a specific job at a certain level. These assessments are conducted alongside evaluations by training institutes to assess the skills, knowledge and work ethics.
MNSDA is an authority established under Chapter 6 of the Higher Education and Training Act of Maldives under the National System of Vocational Education and Training (TVET). MNSDA is run by the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development.
