President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Tuesday toured the PETRONAS Twin Towers, an enduring emblem of Malaysia's architectural innovation and cultural identity. His visit, a notable highlight of his official trip to the nation, included a guided exploration of the landmark and detailed briefings on its engineering achievements and heritage significance.
Upon arrival, the president was welcomed by Bacho Pilong, Senior Vice President of Malaysia Petroleum Management. The tour encompassed several of the towers' most celebrated features, including the Skybridge and Observation Deck, offering sweeping views of Kuala Lumpur, as well as other key areas within the complex.
As the visit unfolded, the president was introduced to the story behind the towers' creation. Completed in 1999 after seven years of meticulous planning and construction, the PETRONAS Twin Towers are a symbol of Malaysia's progress and artistic heritage. Their design incorporates Islamic architectural motifs, reflecting the nation's cultural identity and traditions. At a soaring height of 452 metres, the towers held the title of the world's tallest buildings until 2004, a distinction that cemented their global renown.

Today, it is a sought-after destination for visitors, contributing to the towers' reputation as a major international tourist attraction.
