Nominations have been opened for the membership of the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) after the resignation of its Vice President, Mohamed Fazeen last month.
Fazeen stepped down on 15 March amid a Parliamentary probe into sexual harassment allegations against him.
The Parliamentary Independent Institutions Committee had reportedly been investigating allegations against Fazeen of sexually harassing a female employee. However, due to the sensitive nature of the case the committee meetings had been held behind closed doors.
The President’s Office on Sunday opened applications for the post of MBC member to fill the vacancy left by Fazeen’s resignation.
Applications will be open until 12:00pm on 15 April. The President’s Office said it will accept applications on working days from 8:30am to 12:00 pm until the deadline.
The commission consists of seven members.
