President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have extended an invitation to the public, encouraging them to visit the official residence to exchange festive Eid al-Fitr greetings in person.
According to the President's Office, the president and first lady are set to host a public event at Mulee'aage, the official residence of the president, where they will exchange festive Eid al-Fitr greetings with attendees. The gathering is scheduled to take place on the morning of Eid al-Fitr, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Invitations have been extended to all members of the public, alongside officials from state and government institutions, foreign diplomats, and representatives from various organisations, according to the President's Office. Reflecting the inclusive spirit of Eid, the President's Office has also encouraged families—particularly those with children and young people—to take part in the celebration.
Eid al-Fitr, which signifies the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, is traditionally observed with communal prayers, charitable giving, and the sharing of meals with loved ones. To ensure a smooth experience for attendees, access to Mulee'aage will be facilitated through the main entrance on Mudhiziyaaraiy Magu, the President's Office said. Exchanging greetings between the president, the first lady, and the public during festive celebrations such as Eid has long been a cherished tradition in the Maldives.
