'Maldivian' to acquire new aircraft

National Carrier, 'Maldivian' said it is working to acquire a new aircraft to further strengthen domestic operations. Maldivian, operated by State-owned Island Aviation Services, said the new addition to its fleet will be a 50-seater Dash 8-300. 

Head of Operations at Island Aviation Services - Ali Nishath said the new aircraft will be brought in the first week of October. The new aircraft would increase the Maldivian fleet to 16. 

The fleet currently consists of 7 Dash-8 aircrafts, an Airbus A320 and an Airbus A321 and 6 twin-otter seaplanes.
