Maldivian commences direct flights to Chengdu, China

National carrier Maldivian on Wednesday commenced direct flights to Chengdu, China.

With the addition of the new route, Maldivian now operates flights to 7 cities across China.

The inaugural flight from Chengdu to Male’ landed at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport at 7:30 am Wednesday.

Speaking to PSM about the new route, Head of Operations  Ali Nashaath said "they will operate one flight a week between Chengdu and Male’, using an aircraft with a seating capacity of between 150 and 200 passengers."

He also revealed Maldivian’s plan to add new routes in the near future. 

Currently, Maldivian operates flights to 7 destinations in China, Dhaka in Bangladesh, Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai in India, and Bangkok in Thailand.
