Thoddoo Island Council has decided to issue housing plots from the island after an 18-year hiatus.
The council said it was planning to issue 100 plots, and discussions were now underway to determine the size of the plots.
According to the council, it has so far received over 400 applications for the plots.
Thoddoo, located in Alifu Alifu Atoll, has a population of 1,998.
