President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has affirmed his steadfast confidence in the sustained cooperation and solidarity on issues of mutual interest between the Maldives and Kuwait, projecting mutual benefits for the citizens of both nations in the years to come.
In commemorative letters sent to Kuwaiti leaders on the occasion of Kuwait's National Day and Liberation Day, President Dr Muizzu articulated his optimistic perspective. Kuwait observes its National Day on 25 February and its Liberation Day on 26 February. On these notable occasions, President Dr Muizzu directed letters to the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the government, and the people of Kuwait.
In his correspondence, President Dr Muizzu highlighted the deep-rooted friendship and long-standing bilateral ties between the Maldives and Kuwait, grounded in Islamic faith and shared values. He conveyed his assurance that cooperation and solidarity on common concerns would continue to flourish, ultimately benefiting both nations' populations in the coming years.
President Dr Muizzu also extended his personal best wishes for the good health and well-being of the Kuwaiti Amir and Prime Minister and for the continued progress and prosperity of the Kuwaiti people.
Kuwait's National Day, observed on 25 February, commemorates the accession to the throne of former Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, in 1950. Kuwait's Liberation Day, marked on 26 February, celebrates the nation's regaining of independence in 1991.
