Amjad Musthafa Appointed as Chief Judicial Administrator

Amjad Musthafa has been appointed as the Chief Judicial Administrator of the Department of Judicial Administration.

The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) said Amjad was appointed to the post following the resignation of his predecessor, Aishath Rizna, in September last year. According to JSC, Amjad scored the highest marks in the interview process conducted among the candidates that applied for the position.

Amjad holds a Bachelor of Sharia and Law from the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) and a Masters in Business Administration from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK.

Amjad has previously served as the President of the Employment Tribunal, Vice-President of the Election Commission and as a Board Director of the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation.

The term of office of the Chief Judicial Administrator is five years. The basic salary for the role is MVR 30,500, with total earnings reaching MVR 47,500 with other allowances.
