The Ministry of Social and Family Development has opened nominations for the Rehendhi Award, which recognises the contribution of women in various fields of national service. Nominations can be submitted by 14:00 on 4 May.
The Rehendhi Award recognises the contribution of women in various fields of national service and the role played by women in national development and society building. The award also aims to recognise the efforts of individuals, institutions, associations and organisations working to protect women's rights in society and towards the advancement of women.
Nominations can be self-submitted or proposed by others. Women's development committees, associations and organisations are also invited to submit nominations. Details of the documents required to be submitted with the nominations forms are outlined in the form.
The awards will be presented in four categories. They are:
* Leadership and governance
* Economic empowerment
* Social empowerment
* Field of work or non-traditional roles
Applications forms and award rules can be downloaded from the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s website. They are also available from the Ministry’s offices and other institutions operated under the Ministry. While applications can be submitted via email and in person, in person applications will be accepted from the Ministry’s counter at Umar Zahir Office from 9:00 to 14:00 on working days.
