Parliament Speaker Embarks on Official Visit to India

Speaker of the Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla has departed to India on an official visit. The Speaker undertook the visit at the invitation of the Speaker of India’s Lok Sabha and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.

During the visit, Speaker Abdul Raheem is scheduled to meet the Speaker of the Lok Sabha as well as the Vice President of India and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. He is also scheduled to meet other senior officials of the Indian government.

The Speaker is accompanied by Member of Parliament for Baarah Constituency, Ibrahim Shujaau, Member of Parliament for Hulhudhoo Constituency Mohamed Shahid, Member of Parliament for Huraa Constituency Dr Anara Naeem, Member of Parliament for Kendhikolhudhoo Constituency Mohamed ‘Afoo Hamid, Member of Parliament for Kelaa Constituency, Abdulla Shareef, Member of Parliament for Henveiru North Ahmed Aifan, Member of Parliament for Kudahuvadhoo Hussain Hameed, Member of Parliament for Gemanafushi Constituency Asadhullah Shihab, and Member of Parliament for Kurendhoo Constituency Shamin Habeeb.

The visit is scheduled to conclude on 14 February.
