Islamic Ministry to Host Lecture Series in Preparation for Ramadan

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced a series of lectures titled 'Majaasil Ramadan' to help prepare the community for the month of Ramadan.

The Ministry said the lectures will be based on a book by the renowned Islamic scholar Ibn Uthaymeen, covering essential knowledge on Ramadan. The key topics included in the series include the virtues of the month of Ramadan, the rules of fasting in Ramadan, the virtues of fasting and the rules of night worship in the month of Ramadan.

The lectures will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights throughout the first three weeks of February in Male’ City and 16 islands across the atolls. The sessions in the atolls will be conducted in islands as a collaboration between the Ministry and island councils. The schedule for these lectures will be shared through the Ministry's social media channels.

The month of Ramadan is regarded as the holiest month in Islam. During Ramadan, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs organises annual revival forums to raise awareness about religious issues. According to the calendar, the first day of Ramadan this year falls on 1 March.
