President Dr Mohamed Muizzu conveyed his sincere condolences to King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia upon the passing of Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
In his message, President Dr Muizzu expressed his profound sympathies, underscoring the late Prince Mohammed's steadfast dedication to social issues and humanitarian efforts. The president acknowledged Prince Mohammed’s notable contributions to youth development, healthcare accessibility, and initiatives designed to improve living standards.
President Dr Muizzu concluded his message with a prayer to Almighty Allah, seeking comfort and strength for King Salman, the royal family, and the people of Saudi Arabia in this time of mourning.
Prince Mohammed was a prominent figure, having held the position of governor of the eastern province of Al-Sharqiyyah. He was the son of the late King Fahd. The Saudi Royal Court announced the death of Prince Mohammed in a statement released on Wednesday. The Royal Court further stated that the funeral prayer is scheduled for 29 January, to be held after the Asr prayer at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh.
Born in Riyadh in 1950, Prince Mohammed received his early education at the Model Capital Institute. He later earned a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, United States. Prince Mohammed's government career commenced as an assistant deputy interior minister before his appointment as the governor of the Eastern Province in 1985.
