In a recent meeting with the Innamaadhoo Island Council and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), President Dr Mohamed Muizzu reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to fulfilling his electoral pledges for the residential community of Innamaadhoo, Raa Atoll.
President Dr Muizzu is on a three-day tour of several islands in the Raa Atoll, with Innamaadhoo as a significant stop. The meeting, convened on Wednesday evening at the Innamaadhoo School, centred on the pressing needs and developmental aspirations of the local community.
During the discussions, members of the Innamaadhoo Council and WDC provided President Dr Muizzu with a detailed overview of the issues facing Innamaadhoo residents. They pressed for the swift completion of harbour development and coastal protection projects and highlighted the urgent need to address space constraints in the island’s school and healthcare centre.
The council and WDC members expressed concerns about the household connections to the sewerage network, urging swift resolution of these issues. They also pressed for the immediate commencement of the island’s road construction project. Additionally, the necessity for a sustainable and permanent solution to the island's water supply challenges was underscored as a critical priority.
In response, President Dr Muizzu reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling his electoral promises. He assured the council and WDC members that their concerns were being taken seriously and that the administration was actively working to address them.
Cabinet ministers accompanying the president provided updates on the current efforts being undertaken by the administration to resolve the issues raised during the meeting.
