Maldives Appoints New Vice President

Abdulla Jihad was sworn in as Vice President of the Maldives on Wednesday. The Vice President took his oath of office at a ceremony held at the President’s Office Wednesday afternoon. The oath was administered by the Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed. The Vice President signed the oath thereafter.

Abdulla Jihad served as Minister of Finance and Treasury until his appointment as Vice President. President Yameen also made changes to his Cabinet today. The new appointments are;

Ahmed Zuhoor as the Minister of Home AffairsIruthisham Adam as the Minister of Youth and SportsAhmed Munawwar as the Minister of Finance and TreasuryAbdulla Nazim Ibrahim as the Minister of HealthAminath Zeneesha Shaheed Zaki as the Minister of Gender and Family.The new members took the oath of office at a ceremony held at the President’s Office.
