MIB to Establish Sales Centre and ATM in Ungoofaaru under New Agreement

An agreement has been signed between Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) and Ungoofaaru Council, Raa Atoll, to establish an MIB Sales Centre and ATM on the island.

The agreement was signed as part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing visit to islands of Raa Atoll.

The establishment of an MIB ATM in Ungoofaaru aligns with the government’s commitment to expand banking services to all inhabited islands across the Maldives by the end of 2025. The agreement was signed on behalf of Ungoofaaru Council by Council President Abdulla Rasheed, while MIB’s Managing Director and CEO, Mufaddal Idris Khumry formalised the agreement on behalf of the bank.

MIB will expand its services to 19 additional islands during the current year, including the installation of 23 ATMs on these islands. Additionally, sales centres will be established in four locations: Ungoofaaru of Raa Atoll, Funadhoo of Shaviyani Atoll, Villingili of Gaafu Alifu Atoll as well as Male’ in Kaafu Atoll.
