President Dr Muizzu Vows to Tackle Key Issues in Rasgetheemu

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu pledged his administration's commitment to addressing the various issues and challenges faced by the residential community of Rasgetheemu, Raa Atoll. This assurance was given during a meeting on Tuesday with the Rasgetheemu Island Council, the Women's Development Committee (WDC), and heads of government institutions.

The president's visit to Rasgetheemu is part of a three-day tour of several islands in the Raa Atoll, which began on Tuesday. The meeting centred on the island's developmental needs, with council and WDC members highlighting several key issues.

Concerns raised included the urgent requirement for solutions to challenges encountered in the operation of the island's harbour, the necessity of repairing the electricity infrastructure, and issues related to the water supply and sewerage systems. The council and WDC members further highlighted the spatial limitations of the island's school, the necessity for additional classrooms to accommodate the increasing student population, and the requirement for a new multipurpose hall. The need for a children's park on the island was also noted.

President Dr Muizzu assured the local council and WDC members of his administration's commitment to addressing these challenges. Accompanying cabinet ministers also shared the administration's development plans with the council and WDC members.

As part of his tour of Raa Atoll, President Dr Muizzu is scheduled to visit Vaadhoo, An'golhitheemu, Hulhudhuffaaru, Innamaadhoo, Kinolhas, Maakurathu, Maduvvari, Fainu, Rasmaadhoo, and Un'goofaaru.
