STO Assures Steady Supply Of Eggs During Ramadan

State Trading Organisation (STO), on Saturday assured that it would maintain a steady supply of eggs throughout Ramadan to prevent price hikes.

The wholesale prices of a box of eggs currently stands at MVR275, while it is retailed between MVR280 and 290. A single egg is sold for between MVR1 and 1.50.

As eggs, in addition to potato and onions, are in high demand during the fasting month, STO said it is undertaking measures to maintain a steady supply of the commodities. It added that it is bringing in new shipments every 15 days.
